I got this fun puzzle-a-day calendar puzzle. But the first thing I noticed was there was no stand, it would just lay there, flat on the desk, doing nothing. So I fired up freecad and made a stand for it (the slot in the back is for the hint book that comes with it.):

And what's more fun than solving a puzzle? Writing a program to solve the puzzle! While I can have AI write web-frontends all day long, I like to write fun code myself, since it's kind of like a puzzle to solve a puzzle. Here is the slow and dirty v1 solver I came up with solver and puzzle_data . There is still a lot of cleaning up to make it fast (takes about 20 seconds to solve a puzzle).
On other thing on my todo list is to remake the stand but in wood. Just need to dial in the table saw to cut the angles correctly.
