I was staring at the wall this morning, and noticed this fun pattern the blinds were making with the light, so instead of doing what I had planned for today, I started playing with that pattern.
I also wanted to expand on what this daily project is for, to work on focus and depth; each day focusing on just one thing, and not jumping around to different projects, so after getting the initial design done, I just left the file open all day and tweaked on it. I also used the time throughout the day to research on the subject which took me to reading through the elements of design, and one of the elements of design is "framing". You can see in the variations that most of the items aren't framed, but then I came upon framing and I created the framed version which turned out really nice; tldr if I would have just stopped when I created the initial version I wouldn't have gotten color, texture, and framing added.
What if, instead of doom scrolling, you went out and just researched whatever you were working on? Just vaguely search for what it is your are doing, and see what pops up. Image search is a great way to find fun new things.
